Just had an iPhone 5 dropped off with a faulty power button. It worked but only if you pressed it in the right position, very annoying.
Replacing the power & volume button flex cable solved the problem, making the power button operate like new!
The customer had their iPhone back within a few hours and was charged just £40.
The next iteration of the apple mobile operating system; iOS 7.0 is due for release on September 18th. If you have an iPhone 4 or newer, an iPad 2 or newer, or an iPod Touch 5th generation then it’s well worth updating. The entire iOS has been updated with some excellent new features. An updated user interface will be instantly apparent, with fresh looking icons and layout. The camera app has had a major update, as well as the messages and mail app. My favourite update is the ability to turn WiFi and Bluetooth on and off from the home screen.
Before you update your iOS, it’s well worth performing a backup. There are a few way to do this. The first is to plug your device into your computer and sync with iTunes, this will automatically backup your device. The second is to backup to the cloud, to do this; on your device go to settings, iCloud, storage & backup and turn on iCloud backup if not already on. Ensure that your connected to your WiFi and plugged into a charger and the rest should happen automatically.
If your unsure on how to backup and install the iOS, but don’t want to miss out, give Bournemouth iPhone Repairs on 01202 764197 to find out how.
Apple will be announcing the release of the latest iPhone's at a new event on September 10th. The low cost iPhone, rumored to be called the 5C (photo below) will be released along side the upgraded iPhone 5S. We will of course be offering screen repairs as the best prices in Bournemouth.
A customer phoned today saying that she had attempted a repair on her iPad and had broken one of the touchscreen ribbon cable connectors. The result was that even with a new touchscreen fitted, only half worked.
She didn’t want to pay the £65 to have the socket replaced, instead we were able to offer an intermediate repair for just £25. She went away happy with a working iPad. We were happy to help.
A customer dropped of their iPhone 4S today, it looked in very bad shape. The iPhone turned up in the condition as below. The bottom and top of the screen were totally smashed up, with only tape holding the glass together. The home button assembly was completely separated from the front glass
After the new parts were fitted, the phone looked as good as new. The customer was charged just £70 and went away very happy.
I’ve just finished an iPhone 4S screen replacement. The phone turned up half disassembled with the screws, brackets and retaining clips all mixed up. The first job was to measure all the screws to the nearest 0.1mm. Not surprisingly there were 3 screws missing and the rubber surround for the home button. From there onwards it was a straight forward screen repair. The customer was charged £75 and she had her iPhone back in as new condition.
A customer brought their iPad 2 in for repair. The customer was a deep sea diver and had taken the iPad into the decompression chamber on many occasions to help with the boredom. On the last trip the screen had suffered damage due to the vast pressure difference and resulted in black spots on the LCD, see below.
A new LCD screen was fitted and it looked as good as new.
The customer was charged just £110 and that included a new digitiser. What a bargain
I thought I'd add few pictures of a recent iPhone 5 Screen Repair.
A customer brought in his Sons iPhone 5, it had dropped out of his pocket while running up their drive way and fallen onto the tarmac. The phone was still useable but small pieces of glass had started to come away when in use.
The impact to the screen was very close to the front camera and proximity sensor. Luckily both were still working fine.
After swapping out the screen module the customer picked up his sons phone looking as good as new. The customer was charged £120 and the repair was turned around with an hour.
